Fitzrovia’s property market boasts a wide range of homes, in a variety of styles and sizes. At the upper end of the scale, you’ll find luxury penthouses and sprawling terraced townhouses, which offer plenty of space, plus high-end fixtures and fittings throughout. There are also a few smaller terraced properties, though the market is mostly dominated by apartments.

The area is well known for its Georgian architecture, with many of the available properties being spacious townhouses with lots of period features. The warehouse conversions are also popular, (especially with those who love open-plan living), and there are some notable new developments in the area too; such as Rathbone Square and Fitzroy Place.

Although properties aren’t cheap here, there are some affordable options on the market. The one-bedroomed and studio apartments in Fitzrovia are always sought after and are often situated in sub-divided period buildings.

Fitzrovia is a location that attracts people of all ages; from young couples keen to make the most of the proximity to the West End, to families with parents who work in Central London. It’s a peaceful place to call home; something that busy city workers really appreciate.

Fitzrovia

Fitzrovia has a reputation as an artistic haven, something that first started flourishing back in the 1920s. Over the years, it’s been home to a wealth of famous writers, playwrights, and celebrities, including Virginia Woolf, George Bernard Shaw, Aleister Crawley and Ford Madox Brown.

The area also has strong associations with music. Jimi Hendrix used to live here in the 1960s, and Pink Floyd regularly played at the famous UFO club. More recently, Coldplay formed in the local University College London accommodation, and this cultural ambiance permeates the streets of Fitzrovia even to this day.

The location is extremely well connected, which is something residents really appreciate. There are five tube stations to choose from. Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Circus, Goodge Street, Great Portland Street, and Warren Street. However, thanks to its central location, many people choose to walk instead, as many of the capital’s attractions and entertainment venues are just a short stroll away.

When it comes to amenities, the area has everything you could possibly need. It’s an excellent place to enjoy a night out with friends, thanks to its array of restaurants, bars and pubs. There are also some interesting local museums, plus several local shops, gyms, and green spaces. And, if you’re looking for an afternoon’s retail therapy, Oxford Street’s famous shops are all within easy reach.
