One of the West End’s most famous streets, Wardour Street is one of Soho’s greatest gems with a wealth of things to do in the area!
Running through much of Soho, starting in Leicester Square, going through Chinatown and across Shaftesbury Avenue, finally ending at Oxford Street in the north, you certainly will not be short of things to do. There has been a road on what is now Wardour Street since at least the Elizabethan Era, which is when the first maps of the West End were created. The street was renamed Wardour Street in 1686 and in the 19th Century, the road was known for furniture and antique stores.
In the 20th Century, Wardour Street become famous as the home of the British film industry. The area retains a strong link with the media and arts to this day with many post production, creative media, and film companies being based in the area. This makes this street the ideal space for any creative company to set up a Soho office.
There is plenty to do in the area, with entertainment venues to suit all tastes. From clubs and bars, to theatres and cinemas, the area surrounding Wardour Street has it all. From attractions including famous jazz bar Ronnie Scott’s on Frith Street, and Le Miserables showing at the nearby Shaftsbury Avenue theatre, if you love live music and the arts, you are certain to have a good time.
