Bayswater is an Amazing Place to Live!

March 9, 2018    |   Panny Antoniou

The area surrounding Bayswater and Paddington, north of Hyde Park is full of things to see and do. Could it be the ideal place for you to call home?

Most of the areas surrounding Paddington Station were constructed in the 17th and 18th Centuries with many of the mews properties being constructed for equestrian use. Many houses of the period consisted of a stable with a residential apartment in the upper parts. Indeed, this function continues to this day and Bathurst Mews, a delightful cobbled street just off Lancaster Gate Tube Station, boasts the last functioning stable in Central London. This incredible feature is just part of what makes Bathurst Mews such a unique and vibrant place to live.

There are a number of things to do in the area and there are many restaurants, bars, pubs, and clubs located all around Bayswater. Pergola on the Roof is a well-known eating destination set in the heart of Paddington. Featuring five self service restaurants with London favourites including Patty & Bun and DF/Mexico, there is something for everyone. In addition, there are also two bars which serve great alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in an al fresco setting. In addition, there are many other restaurants in the area including a fantastic curry house, the Taste of India, and a number of Arab and North African restaurants serving traditional cuisine.

In addition, the nightlife north of Hyde Park has something for everyone. From the opulent Victoria pub whose character features include a clock dated 1864, to The Duke of Kendall which is famous for their Sunday nights where they have live music and singalongs rather than the usual quiet nights most public houses have on Sundays. The Mitre is another famous pub located in the Bayswater area, located in a Grade II listed building which maintains many historical features including mosaic floors. This pub is even believed by some to be haunted, and the ghost of a murdered coach driver still frequents the establishment. In addition, there are also a number of bars including Westbourne House which has an extensive and innovative cocktail list, and the EDG Bar & Lounge which is located near Edgware Road Station, serving up cocktails and a relaxed vibe.

If you are looking to make this vibrant corner of W2 your home, we have the perfect home for you. Located on Bathurst Street, this incredible 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment could be the perfect home for you.
